Can't Sleep

Well here I am laying in the bed, and I can't sleep. Tommorow is Easter, and we are planning on doing the same thing that we do every year. We all get up for a big breakfast, then we get ready and head down the road to church. After church, we will come home and see what the "Easter Bunny" has left on our beds and eat lunch. After lunch we usually boil a couple dozen eggs and color them up. This has pretty much been our routine every since i can remember.

Well, im heading into the last few weeks of school, there is so much to do. Im hoping that I will make it through. Spanish is gonna be the hardest final, ive made a C all the test so far, just hoping his final wont be some crazy 200 question's like it was in highschool. I seem to be doing well in both my english classes. Im hoping that i will do really well on these last papers so it will give my grade a nice boost.

Today....

Well today was really boring. I only had to go to, 2 of my 4 classes today. The only bad thing was that my first class was a 8, and the next one was not util 3. So getting up this morning was particully hard for me to do. So im prolly gonna head home this weekend, the weather is supposed to be nice so hopefully ill get to do a little bit of fishing. My little brother has already caught a few nice ones this year, so he talkin some junk, even more reason for me to go fishing. Well I have about one more month in my first year of college. Its been a whole differnt experence for me. But a good one. Well i best get one with some other homework.

Doll House Character.....

I choose Anna-Marie

Anna-Marie is Nora's nanny/nurse. We can see that she hold an unigue affection for Nora and her children. Anna-Maire was hired by Nora's father back before he died. She left her own daughter to take this job. This seems to be very selfish of her. But like other characters in the play, she had to make risks becuase of her finacally situation. She comprimised her own happiness becuase she need the job. Though the author does not go into much detail about Anna-Marie, we can see that she is a sweet person, she has a love for Nora and her children, something that most other charaters do not have for Nora.

The Weekend

Well this weekend was a kinda uneventful one, Friday i went home to see my uncle that had come down for the weekend. So I hung out with my family this weekend and ate alot of food and that was about it. Nothing else happened.

Im really ready for the weather to get warm and stay that way so I can start fishing again, this is what i miss most about the summer. Hopefully so I will get to start fishing agian. I didnt get to do as much as i wanted last summer, i was always working, but i had a blast when i was able to go. Hopefully this summer i will get to go more.

So....

Its been a while since i've been up here to blog. Last week was Spring Break, i did'nt do alot, just worked. It was pretty boring, but what else can i expect from Sampson County. Not much to do there except go to Wal-Mart or go fishing. But i do miss it sometimes, just living the small town life.

NCAA tourney has stared, not big suprises yet, as of now my bracket is still in good standing, except for the Maryland - Cal game, i knew Maryland was good, but i still thought Cal could pull it out. After Connecticut's win today w/ out their coach I feel good about it, they are my pick to win it all. There is alot of hype about Carolina taking the title, personally i dont think that they are gonna make it by Oklahoma, but we shall see.

Thursday...

Well today is Thurday, and I have only one more day until Spring Break. I have 2 exams tommorow in Computer Science and Spanish. I also have a outline due tommorow that I am supposed to post on here, I'm not quite done with the outline yet so I will be posting that tommorow after my Computer Test.

I'm heading up to Raliegh this weekend to see my sister, then its back home for a week of work, I have to make some money, cause as of right now I'm about broke. So Spring Break is not gonna be much of a break for me, but I don't have any other choice. Hopefully I will get some time to enjoy my Spring Break. But a break from schoo will be great, even if I do have to work.

Well thats about it until tommorwo when I post my out line.

Well this morning i woke up with a massive headache. I felt like total crap when I got up, but i tried anyway and hoped a shower would make me feel better but i was wrong. So, i didnt go to class this moring becuase i knew i wasnt gonna be able to make it through 3 of them this morning. What really sucks is that i have another class at 3 that I have to go to because we might possibly have a quiz, and i wont be able to make it up if i dont take it. So that class isnt till three so hopefully i can take massive meds and be feeling better by then. After class im goin home to good ol Sampson County. A buddy of mine is have his birthday party so im gonna help him bring it in right. Well, thats all i got to say for the time being

Paper Topic....

I plan on writing my essay on Shirley Jackson’s “The Lottery” and Franz Kafka’s “In the Penal Colony.” Within these two stories, there are odd tradions that would not work in todays socitey. I am too write about the language and imagery within these two stories. I chose this becuase i feel most comfortale writing about these two elements.

Myself in Third Person

The year was 1990 and the date was Aug. 8 when this child came into the world. This child was named Carl Chaffin Allen. Chaffin was born about 6 weeks early but reached bouced back within a few weeks and had reached the normal size, and was going strong. Not much is known about Chaffin's life until age 5 when he started Kindergarten and Union Elemntary. These were some to the best years of Chaffin's life. He coasted through elementart school with no problem. Chaffin started playing football and baseball when he was in third grade, and for the next few year, his football teams were good and rarely lost. When Chaffin arrived in middle school, he was not given the oppurtunity to play becuase his coach was a asshole. But despite this he didnt quit. After the boring 3 years of middle school, Chaffin arrived in high school. Here he played and started o-line for his football team, 2 years of J.V and 2 years of varsity. He was givin the honor of making the All-Confrence Team his junior year. He also particpated in baseball, he was a solid play but nothing incredeble like his youger brother, who became the ace for the varsity his freshman year of highschool, Chaffin's senior year. High School was a great experience for Chaffin, he meet some of his best friends particaipated in many school events and activities. He was average in the classroom, not always the smartest, but certainly not the dumbest. Graduation was the best time Chaffin ever had in highschool. Nothing compared to walking across that stage and recivied something that he worked so hard for, not to mentoin the party that nigh, and the week he and all his friends spent at Topsail. Where is Chaffin now you may wonder. Chaffin was accepted to UNCW and is now attending the school and majoring in Enviormental Science. This is Chaffin's life all crammed into a blog. I hope you enjoy reading about Chaffin.

Well...

Well I forgot to do my second blog last week, hopefully it will not count off to much. Right now I'm in the library putting the finishing touches on my paper for Lit. class. I'm hoping that I have fixed my mistake and it will end up being a good paper. I have a Spanish paper due today, i finished that Saturday, I was not allowed to get any help on it becuase he wanted to see how we would do on our own, I don't think that I did so hot on this paper.

Well State and Carolina play agian this Wendseday. I think it will be a better game than last time. If State will play like they are capable of doing they have a chance to beat Carolina, we saw this in the State-Wake game. Even though they blew a 20 point lead they were able to keep their composure and get the win. I just hope that they are able to keep their mometum going and get another ACC win against the Tarheels.

Boredom.....

Well its 10 in the morning and I'm sitting in the library. I think I'm gonna chill here till my next class, spanish at 3. Its a long time but it gives me time to get alot of work done and study for a test that I have tommorow. The first think i did when I got here was log onto my facebook. There I saw that my sister had posted a new video. I found it quite amusing, this video is about young kid that gets meds at the denisit and is still under the influce on the way home, funny stuff. I just wish i felt like that whenever I leave the denist.

Well Carolina and Duke play tonight. The biggest ACC game of the year. This is a hard descion for me, either way it dosent really matter, there is no way NCSU is gonna do anything for the rest of this year, but if someone wins I hope its Duke, for the reason that I despise Carolina with every bone in my body, i'm not sure where this hatred of Carolina came from, but its there and I absolutey hate them. Carolina has a few more weapons than Duke, but if Duke plays their game they can win this game

This Week..

Hopefully this blog is not going to be considered late, without having class on Friday I spaced a little bit and forgot to blog. But anyway, this week has been pretty uneventfull. I took a couple of test and wrote a few paper, hopefully I did well. I have a rough draft due in Lit. tommorow which I am putting the finsihing touches on as we speak.

Today was my brothers birthday, my family came to Wilmingtonk. We are at Buffalo Wild Wings, went bowling, the went to the mall. My brother turned 16 years old today. So hopefully he dose not follow in my footsteps and get a speeding ticket, which I got last night, 79 in a 55, I was trying to get somewhere and I was on a road back home that there are never cops on, i think that I am the first person to be pulled on that strech of road. But it was my first ticket so i figure we all got one in us.

Overall its been a good week and well thats it for now

In the library....

Its exactly 1:30 right now and i'm in the library studying for a Spanish test I have today at 3. I'm really not ready for this test, but i know just about all the material, just feel like I am forgetting something. I've also been working on my poem paper for Lit. class. It's a little harder than i thought it was going to be, but i think that it is coming along well.

It snowed this morning during my first 2 classes, I wish it would have continued so hopefully my Spanish class would have been cancelled, but no such luck. Last time it snowed I was back in Sampson Country. I had to drive to the denist, a 15 min drive, it took me 45 min to get there, if you went over 35 miles per hour, your car would start sliding all over the place. I saw about 4 cars in the ditch on the way there, and then 5 more on the way back. Some people need to learn how to drive. The county also needs to be better perpared, the roads were terrible all day and they did nothing about it. That night I came back to Wilmington and 421 was in good shape, probally because it was a main road.

NCSU vs. UNC

This is the game I look forward to all year, even though though the projected outcome is obvious. For those who don't know i'm a huge NCSU fan. We were lucky enought to take one win from them last year. Though our record does not show it, i believe that we are a much improved team. My only issue is Sidney Lowe, he was a good player during his time, but being a good player does not make you a good coach. For State to have a chane Costner, McCauley, and Fells are going to have to play their best game of the year. A Man to Man defense in their only option, if they go into zone and give Lawson and Ellington any room on the perimeter the game is goint go be over before it even start. The bench must also play well tonight. There is some young talent on the NCSU team, in particular Tracy Smith, he is a very promising player, and will bring some respect back to the team in Raielgh. Hopefully he will stay with us, he has the potential to enter the draft in the next year or so.

Robert Frost

Instead of listing a million random facts about Robert Frost, I figure i will give you the link to a page full of facts about him, and I will write some about his poetrey from our book.

The three poems in our book by Robert Frost seemed to describe some kind of jouney that he was on. The first poem "Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening", the charecter seems to be resisting the need to keep going into the woods, which are describes as lovey, dark, and deep. It seems this is a jouney that he does not want to go on with.

The second poem "The Road Not Taken", he is on a walk and comes to a fork in his path. He is unsure of with path to take. Eventually he chooses the path that is "less taveled". It seems to me that he chooses this path becuase he wants to choose a path that is different than than many of the people before him. But there is always going to be that curiosity about the other path, and what may have happened.

The final poem "Acquainted with the Nigh" is about his journey through a city at night. This poem is a little out of place for Frost, most of his poems and centered around nature. But this jouney seems to be one that he has to take, mabye he has done something and has to get away, or he could just be out for a walk.

The order of these poems in the book show significace. The first poem is a jouney that is not taken, the second one, he has a choice to take one or the other, the final poem is a journey that he has to take. These poems relate to our everyday lives and the choices that we must make. Some things we have no reason to do and don't, other times we must choose between two things. and then sometimes we have no choice, its just something that we have to do.

Stereotyping Americans....

This morning in class, towards the end of class we were talking about a poem,"Blood", the reaction of of one of my classmates caught my attention. In this class we where talking about stereotypes and what effect they have had on people. When my classmate started to elaborate on the poem, it seemed to me he was the one doing the stereotypting, stereotyping Americans. Many believe that America tends to be a violent country, and the people living in it are the same way. But if you look back into our history, when we go to war it was nessesary to proctect our way of life, to keep our freedoms. In WWI we started out neutral until we were attacked by Germans. WW2, we where attacked by Japanese. Veitnam, North Korea crossed the line that was made to keep peace and threatened innocent people. Gulf War, we warned Hussien not to attack Kuwait, we attepted to keep peace. War on Terrorism, our country was attacked and thousands of innocent Amercian citizens lives were lost. So, if you think that it was not nessicary to protect the Amercian people and our allies, i perosnally think you are being ignorrant. To keep our freedom that we fought for so long ago, we must protect what ours and our people. I agree that some things should have been done different, but was totally nesseasay in the first place. So to stereotype Americans and violent, and not being able to see outside our own borders, is crazy. It seems to me that the ones attacking us have the problem and are violent. When we found Hussein, how many lives to you think we saved??? If he was not stopped he was going to keep on killing millions of innocent people in other countrys. You may not agree with what I have to say, but this blog has nothing but facts, its just depends on you how you decide to intrepret it.

Love Poems

This past week I was required to read some love poems for my English 110 class. I have never been a really big fan of poetry. Yet agian I find myself in a situation of non-understanding. None of the poems really seemed that good to me, but i'm not a artsy kind of person. The only poem that made any sense to me was "somewhere i have never travelled" by E.E Cum mings. I though this poem was about a persons first love. In the first stanza it talks about somewhere i have never travelled so that seemed like a dead give away to me, the last line in the second stanza talks about her first rose. I have this 100 percent backwards, but thats just what I got out of this poem. The rest of the poems seemed to repeat themselves all about the same things, the lasting feeling of love, and the bad side of being in love. But thats just me,

My Second Blog....

This blog is going to be very random. I'm just going to talk about thing that will make no sense and will not affect the person who reads this blog in any way. So, last night me and my buddy Wiggy cooked some deer meat, it was not that good, i think the grease we fried it in was a little to hot, especially since the stove caught of fire when the grease boiled over after we drop the potatos and onions into it. It was a eventful experience, I don't plan on frying any deer with him anytime soon.

Tonight we are going to try this again, but instead of frying deer meat we are going to cook a tenderloin. I'm hoping that this time will be a little better than last night. Theres a party tonight that I might go to, but i got class at 8 in the morning and I went out last night after we ate so I'll problaly just chill in the dorm tonight and get ahead in a few of my classes

The Blog.....

The first blog that I looked at was one about the Carolina Pathers football team. When I first came across this blog I thought it was going to be strictlly about the fooball team and how the teams plays. But this blog also goes into the lives of the players. When I revisited this site today I found a new post about a prostitution ring in Charlotte that had apparently serviced one of the Carolina Pathers team members. I thought that this blog was going to be all about the team such as the games and opinions of the Pathers faithful. The blog is mostly about the team and how they could be better, which is why they need to get rid of Jake and his five turnovers in the game agianst the Eagles, the kid is garbage. But some of the things that I found on the blog are quite intresting and I plan to check it out every now and then.
